...Bringing the best of MUDs and online text gaming to your browser...
Q. So what exactly is a MUD?
A. MUD stands for Multi User Dungeon, or Domain, or Dimension depending on who you ask. There’s also MUX and MUSH, and some people like to use the term MU*. Regardless of acronym, they are all types of persistent online worlds where you can interact with other players as well as the virtual world itself. This interaction may take the form of roleplaying, exploration, socialising or more violent pursuits.
On MudGamers you will find examples of all the different types of gameplay to be found in MUDs. The one thing they all have in common is that they are text based; you read descriptions of what is happening and type your actions in real time.
Q. How do I play these games?
A. Each game entry will have a PLAY NOW button that opens a Flash game client in a new window. You can type your commands in the entry box at the bottom of the window and see the output from the game in the main window. Usually the first thing you have to do when you connect to a new game is to create a character to play in that world.
Q. The game window is blank and doesn’t connect to the game, what’s wrong?
A. Make sure you have the latest version of Flash installed on your computer.
Q. Does my game qualify to be listed on MudGamers?
A. Any game that can be connected to via a telnet connection and is both playable and original may be listed on MudGamers.
Q. What do you mean by playable?
A. Your game must be open to players and there must be content for them to play. We do not accept listings for games that are still in early development.
Q. What do you mean by original?
A. Your game must be largely non stock. It is likely that any established game that has undergone improvements, additions and modifications will meet this requirement. If you are unsure whether your game is eligible to be listed on MudGamers please contact us.
Q. How do I submit my game to your site?
A. Complete this form to submit your game. You must be a registered member to do this.
Q. How often can I rate my favourite games?
A. You may only rate a game once in any 24 hour period.
