Nymeria on Blood of Dragons MUSH: Wanted Characters

This weekend (August 20th to August 22nd) sees the return of the former hostages to Dorne. Most prominent among these are Prince Cadan Nymeros Martell, the brother of Prince Marence. He is a CGed but currently unplayed character and we'd love to see him in play for this event and onwards. To learn more about the character, simply log on to the game and type "+cdb/view cadan/all", "+cdb/eview cadan/all" and "+cdb/rview cadan/all".

Cadan is a Tier III Restricted character, so to apply for him you need to have read "A Song of Ice and Fire" and you need to have prior MU*ing experience. The application asks for logs of prior roleplay but this can be substituted for a probationary period.

We would also like to see more Dornish characters in general, and some other CGed characters that may be of interest include:

Jasmylla Fowler (a young lady, one of the former hostages)
Liane Uller (a young heiress, one of the former hostages)
Jossart Vaith (a young lord, one of the former hostages)
Azalais Dayne (a young lady and aspiring artist)

In addition, there are plenty of unCGed characters available in both Dorne and King's Landing for those who prefer to do their own character creation.

Hello All,

I would like to invite you all to come try out ConQUEST. We have been in
development for approximately 5 years now, and are finally at a stage of
completion where we are beginning to look for active players. To tell you a
little about the mud:

* The Mud base is NakedMud; all game content has been written from scratch.
* We have a detailed crafting and trading system. All equipment outside of the
  newbie zone, mundane and magical, is player made.
* Powerful magical items can take days, or even weeks, to create and require
  collaboration by multiple crafters, each with specialization in their own
  unique area of crafting.
* Combat is manual, using an action point system. It is fast-paced, and often
  requires you to react to and anticipate your opponent's moves.
* We are a classless, levelless mud that offers an indepth player customization
  process. Advancement is through the acquisition of magical items and character
  'traits' that provide modifications to how you fight.
* You can rechoose your combat skills any time you are in town; experimenting
  with different skills and weapon combinations is encouraged.
* We offer a large, rich 80,000 room wilderness with overhead map that
  encourages exploration. Special resources, treasures, and dungeons can be
  found randomly spawned throughout the land.
* Competitive prestige items will be available to players who win weekly
  tournaments in areas of monster hunting, treasure finding, and PvP. These
  items decay after a week, and must be won back at the next tournament.
* Players are encouraged to submit crafting and moster ideas according to our
  design guidelines. Ideas that become implemented are rewarded with experience
  and copies of the submitted recipes.

While ConQUEST is its own unique game, it has drawn many influences from others
such as Icesus, GodWars II, Aeonian Dreams, and Ultima Online. If you have
enjoyed any of these games, you will surely find a loved home at ConQUEST.

Whether your in the Northern Hemisphere or the Southern, this summer (or winter!) DBAT will really be heating up. The June Bug strikes with a vengeance as the DBAT staff plan not one but two major events this month; The Stars Align and the 2nd Galaxy's Strongest Tournament.

The Stars Align - June 18th

Every 5 centuries, in the night skies of Frigid, the constellation of the Grand Deceiver forms, easily recognizable by the blood coloured stars that comprise it. This unexplainable phenomenon has been misguidedly linked to several fanciful events such as the apocalypse. One interesting theory, commonly shared by Sword masters and collectors of rare weapons alike, seem to believe it is only on this one night that the dreaded blade Gimanteki appears, waiting to be claimed.

Galaxy's Strongest Tournament

Ever thought you were the strongest warrior in the galaxy but those words rang hollow? Then enter the Galaxy's Strongest Martial Arts Tournament (GST for short) to prove your mettle. A trophy awaits the tournament winner that will cement once boastful claims into reality!

An Android named Mainframe was the victor in the first edition of the Tournament, will you be there to see if he can once again triumph? Will you be the one to stop him?

Dragonball Advent Truth, the advent of true DBZ mudding.

Have you ever wished to play in a DBZ MUD that actually expressed the ideas put forth in the show and stuck to them as closely as possible while still maintaining that "game" aspect? You may have tried other DBZ MUDs and been disappointed to find that they either sacrificed the game play element or sacrificed the DBZ element. Perhaps you have played DBZ MUDs that are DBZ in name only but for all intents and purposes are either poorly designed or a totally different genre pretending to be DBZ just to draw you in. Perhaps you have tried many DBZ MUDs and been disappointed for a number of reasons.

Well friend your answer has arrived. Dragonball Advent Truth is that answer. It is a DBZ mud that sticks as close to the ideas of the show as possible, distilling them into a game, and all while still maintaining balanced game play. We at Dragonball Advent Truth can't stress balance enough. Balance is what makes games enjoyable. Balance is what brings out the best in the player. Not just being handed achievements or having them ridiculously difficult to earn. Not having one caste of players standing above another without any due process for that caste to be replaced.

You may be wondering what a DBZ MUD advertisement like this is doing droning on and on about balance and game play. You may have become so used to the trash heap that the DBZ MUD community is recognized as that you don't even stop to think of "game play" and "DBZ" in the same sentence. If you are fair minded that is about to change. A better day has arrived friends, a day when you can play a DBZ MUD and be proud of that MUD instead of making excuses for it.
