I've updated the client on the site to fix a few bugs and added the ability to toggle command stacking using the ";" character in the settings. Please report any problems.
I am also now able to offer a version of the client that doesn't use the site proxy for any games that wish to use it. You will however need to serve a socket policy file on port 843 of your server if you wish to use this version.

I've removed the password hiding feature from the client. While I think it was rather neat, unfortunately there were too many problems trying to get it to work with some games so as it's not exactly essential I took it out.

That would certainly explain why someone kept connecting and disconnecting from it last night while I was working… *chuckle* Uhh, thanks for the publicity, Orrin ;)

A small client update today. You should clear your browser cache and refresh the page to ensure you're using the latest version of the client.
- Added support for telnet TERMINAL-TYPE negotiation with the client identifying as 'Mudgamers'.
- Replaced embedded Consolas font with Bitstream Vera Sans Mono (it just occurred to me that I had no license to distribute Consolas, oops!)
- Improved handling of bold text. If your mud sends [1m it will display as html bold as opposed to a bright colour. This should make MUSH output look better.
- The wobbly text alignment is fixed and linebreaks should be handled better too.
- Improved colour parsing. This should now handle all combinations of colour codes, although still no background colours I'm afraid.
- The client webpage is now titled with the mud name incase you forget which one you're playing. Currently this is for new mud listings only. I'll fix the rest when I can work out a faster way to do it than editing the listings by hand.

Another small client update. Again please clear your browser cache and refresh to load the latest version.
- Removed bold text so ANSI bright should now once again render as bright.
- Removed the embedded font as there's a bug in Flash player with rendering fixed width embedded fonts.
- Fixed some more colour bleed and bright display issues.

Matt, any chance of a iPhone/Smart phone client?
I know the iPhone can't use flash (grumble) or I'd just connect through the portal.

I don't use an iPhone myself and am not a registered Apple developer so it's not something I had really given much thought to. It would probably be more work than I really have the time to commit to right now, particularly given that I'd have to familiarise myself with their sdk first.
I'm sure I remember reading something on TMS about an iPhone client but I don't know what happened to that.

I hear you, I was on my site and saw the portal and went 'man that'd be nice' (via my iphone that is).
I've read/added to the TMS thread, but I don't think anything has come out of it. Apparently the 'iMud' client isn't 3g? (or perhaps not compatible with the newer iPhones? Not sure). I do have a telnet app that works, but it makes regular telnet on a computer seem like a robust mud client in comparison heh.
