You can now only rate a single game per hour and any one game once in 24 hours.

Personally I think it would be better to restrict it to one vote per person and day.
Then they'd have to sacrifice the vote for their own game, if they wanted to downgrade someone else.
But hey, it's your list.

I agree with Molly on the one vote per person suggestion. However, as she noted: It's your party.

If you can only vote for one MUD every 24 hours, what does it matter if you can caste a vote for that particular MUD every hour?

It's the other way around – you can make one vote per hour, but can only vote for the same mud once every 24 hours. It stops the people who rate down all the competition at the same time they vote their own mud up (they can still rate down the competition, but they have to leave an hour between each vote, which requires a certain degree of dedication).

You mean people downgrade other muds?!?!?!?!?!
What kind of person would do that!!
I know I don't, and I personally believe that those people who do are highly insecure.
But that's just me.

I am curious if the 24 hour timer could just reset once a day server time. Since actually waiting the full 24 hours is slowly pushing the time players can vote further and further back.

It's not quite that simple I'm afraid. It's possible of course, but I'd rather leave it the way it is for a while to see how things work out before making any further changes.
