Orrin, awesome job on bringing on the gravatars!
It's been a while since I've been on their site, but I was under the impression that there were 2 sizes of the image available: tiny and tinier

Yep gravatars should be working for both comments and on the forums.
Edit:
The size of the gravatars is set at 50 pixels for the forum which is the default and personally I think it's big enough.

I should also say that for those of you who don't want to use gravatars you can still upload an avatar for the forums. Click on your profile link while on the forum page and there will be an option to upload an image from your hard drive. The maximum size is 50 x 50 pixels.

Gravatars are universal avatars that you can associate with an email address and are then used on any blogs/forums that support the gravatar system. If you don't want to use gravatars you can still set an icon image for the forum from your profile (click on the profile button on the top right of the forum).
I just noticed the link above for the gravatar website was wrong so I've corrected it.
