I'm your ever-friendly, twink-busting, RPI-lovin', ancient historian and MUDder (and by ancient historian I mean both my field and a sad reference to my age).  I hold a Master's Degree in European History with an emphasis on the Roman Empire, 1st and 2nd centuries CE. My B.A. was also in History with a minor in Anthropology. While not specifically an area of study I concentrated on in college, the Victorian era has always been of interest to me since I was very young. Some of my interests include history, anthropology, film, literature, and of course MUDs. My favorite films include Casablanca, Schindler's List, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Gladiator (yes it's historically inaccurate, but good filmmaking nevertheless), Dances With Wolves, and the original Planet of the Apes. My favorite TV shows include any of the Star Treks, especially the original series and The Next Generation, and other classic TV shows like MacGyver, Seinfeld, M*A*S*H and Moonlighting. I also shun most network TV nowadays but watch PBS shows like Nova, American Experience, The Red Green Show, and Mystery! My favorite authors include Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Ian Fleming, Isaac Asimov, and John Steinbeck while my favorite works include The Hound of the Baskervilles (my favorite), the entire Sherlock Holmes series, the James Bond novels, the Foundation Trilogy, Of Mice and Men, and Dune. I first played a MUD in early 1997 but wasn't impressed. It took some looking around before I finally found one I enjoyed. I started on a H&S in 1999 before being introduced to RPI MUDs via Harshlands later that year. In 2002, I quit H&S altogether and have only played RPIs ever since. Since 2000, I have played all of the classic RPIs including Harshlands, Forever's End (FEM), Forever Ends (FE2), Shadows of Isildur (SoI), Ritnarium, and Armageddon (actually in that order). In January of 2004, I joined the staff of Shadows of Isildur and concentrated my attention on running non-combat RPTs and hunting down twinks. In other words, I concentrated on making the game a pleasant experience for players who like something other than skill-spamming and constant warfare. In January of 2005 (one week shy of a year), I left the staff of SoI and began work on designing TSOY. As the creator and designer of The Streets of Yesterday, I am primarily working on laying out the history, society, culture, and other aspects of the game world as well as building and coordinating the rest of staff.

Just posting to say stuff like "Hi" and "Nice site".

So….

"Hi."

"Nice site."
