Hi everyone, my name is Justin. I remember when I played my first online game…I think it was in 2000 or 2001. Anyone else ever play Tibia? Well, it was my first experience with one of these MMORPGs or whatever and I was pretty much hooked from the beginning. I got a few friends into it and we were really nerds about it. I even tried to visit their company's headquarters in Germany (they wouldn't let me in, though). Around that same time (summer 2003) I found out about these things called MUDs and started playing one called Aetolia. (I was also kind of mad the Tibia people wouldn't see me, so I stopped playing that). I've played a couple other IRE MUDs, Aabahran for a while, Evarayn a bit, a few others.
Then I decided it might be fun to start my own (I guess this happens to a lot of people). I've been working on Kingdoms of Ahln (yeah, KoA) from the ground up off and on for a couple years now, in the bit of free time I have while getting my PhD in computer science. I have to admit it is pretty fun to see something like a world come into existence. Anyone is welcome to stop by the game or the forums and check things out. I'm really open to suggestions, especially given the embryonic state of things.
I should mention I was already using bc-dev's flash client for KoA and then all of a sudden there is a whole site of games that will be doing so
