It’s Year 253 After Landing. In the years since Mount Garben forced the evacuation of Landing, the Pern colony has prospered. There are settlements across much of the Southern Continent, and life in the major holds is easy – for now. With Thread due to return in five years’ time, there are fears that the dragons will be unable to protect so much land, and a massive effort is underway to Threadproof hundreds of dwellings that were built without thought for the future. The first settlers’ technology, though carefully preserved, is failing, but secrets still lie in the computer files….

Second Pass MUSH is a new Pern game that explores an alternate history in which the colonists found a new home in the South when the volcano erupted. Our setting is Xanadu Town, administrative capital of Pern and home to the central College – a place where dragonriders live alongside townsfolk, students come from across the continent, and the struggles that come with change are played out.

Second Pass has opportunities for characters of all sorts – dragonriders, students, professionals and crafters, and many other townsfolk. We aim to be a plot-focused game that will allow in-depth exploration of characters and of the game’s themes – a world in transition, facing a threat to survival along with the loss of technology and social change.

Alter Aeon

Alter Aeon is a custom MUD with unique spell, skill, and minion systems, player run shops, boats, and many other features for nearly every kind of player. In development since 1995, the world of Alter Aeon has hundreds of areas to explore, quests to complete, and puzzles to solve. Players can even download a custom client that adds a graphical map and has a number of other features!

The game theme is swords and sorcery/medieval, with dragons, priests, and spellcasting. All characters are multiclass, with five basic classes of mage (spellcaster), cleric (priest/godly power), thief (stealth and social engineering), warrior (melee combat), and necromancer (minion armies). Other skill sets, such as druid or ranger, are built from combinations of these.

New players will find an extensive support structure of Avatars, low level areas and quests specifically designed for newbies, as well as extensive on-line help and FAQs. Advanced players will find no shortage of areas to explore, quests to complete, or items to find. Clans, guilds, and player owned shops provide an entertaining place to spend down time.

The theme of NorCon MUSH is based on Anne McCaffrey’s Dragonriders of Pern.

Currently set on Pern’s northern continent in the Tenth Interval,
NorConMush explores the fallout from a recent Comet Pass, an unexpected
return of Thread ten turns into what was expected to be 200 turns of
Threadfree skies. Our timeline originally picked up from the end of “The
White Dragon” where a non-functional AIVAS was discovered and relegated to
the dust heap of history. As such the events that took place in ATWoP have
not occurred and our Pern continues to struggle with the cycle of Passes
and Intervals and the push and pull of politics and social change that it
entails.

Please feel free to log on as a guest and check us out. Create a character! We’re always eager to have new people. There’s a strong focus on community and building lasting connections between characters. At any given time one of the main areas typical has some sort of plotline or even going on and is looking for new characters to join in the mix!

Ansalon MUD

Welcome to Ansalon,

Ansalon is a Dragonlance MUD (Multi User Dungeon, Text Based Game) where a player can become an imaginary character in the DragonLance world, and interact with other players who are also playing at the same time. Your character can be a Silvanesti Elf, a Neidar Dwarf, a Human, a Minotaur, a fun-loving Kender, or any of a multitude of races.

Ansalon is one of the longest-running MUDs left in existance (est. 1996). It is a stable, well-developed world, with custom code and custom areas to explore. Even over a decade later, we’re making upgrades and changes on a weekly basis!

Ansalon is always looking for new players with new stories to tell and new conflicts to insight. Speaking of stories, check out our stories page!! Thousands of stories from 1999 through now! Read them by author, updated as they post!

Newbies are encouraged and with them in mind, Ansalon offers detailed maps and has many people willing to help out and give advice so that folks unused to Ansalon _don’t_ have to struggle through the often painful process of learning a new MUD. There is a great ‘USE’ command for almost any object you find, give it a shot! Ask questions on the Newbie channel (or OOC), get all of the free maps from the school. And READ that email we sent you, it does have some great information on how to get started!

We fully encourage clans and other organizations. Perhaps you’d like to join the Solamnic Knights? Or join the Conclave of Mages? Or maybe you want to take over the world with Takhisis’ Dragonarmies? No matter what your character wants to do, there’s a clan that should suit his/her taste.

the smaug code base. We have a friendly Staff that work for us,
