Come to Legends of the Jedi and enter a gaming experience
where the players can rewrite the classic Star Wars stories
with their own battles, their own heros, and their own
endings. We offer two playing environments on a single port.
The main galaxy is where most of the action can be found,
and we also offer a fully functional, secluded Hapes
Consortium. LotJ operates on a progressive timeline that
extends approximately 18 months, and takes players through
all of major points of the Star Wars Expanded Universe.
No matter what your favorite era is, you’re sure to find
it on Legends of the Jedi.

The key positions on Legends of the Jedi are all played out
by members of our player base. From the Queen of Naboo, the
Jedi Master, the Princess of Alderaan, to the Sith Lord, or
the last surviving Mandalorian hunter, LotJ players are
never without exciting parts to role play. Have an idea of
your own that you’d like to introduce? Our webpage offers an
online method for submitting applications for things ranging
from Jedi Force to clans to character roles or anything else
you can dream up.

The main galaxy playing environment features the planets
and themes that are most commonly associated with Star Wars:
Jedi Knights, Senators, hidden Sith Lords, Hutt crime
clans, and bounty hunter guilds. The second playing
environment, The Hapes Consortium, offers an alternate role
play experience for players over the age of 18. The Hapes
Consortium on LotJ has a role playing style that borrows
from MUSH style posing and mixes it with MUD style action
to create a more in-depth, player driven storyline.

Role play is strongly enforced on Legends of the Jedi.
Player kills must be handled in accordance with our rules,
and have strong supporting cause. Players who feel their
death has not been handled properly will have the
opportunity to dispute it with our player-elected Role
Play Council, or RPC. The RPC is responsible for judging
player disputes, restore requests, and many other in-game
issues that may arise.

Legends of the Jedi has a unique, user-friendly account
system that allows our players garnish points from events,
special quests, exemplary role playing, and the death (perm)
of their characters. Players may then use those points
to purchase special races, and levels for new characters.

Star Wars: Galactic Conquest is in the final development stages and is open for late-stage playertesting. SW:GC boasts a number of features rarely found in Star Wars MUDs, such as Virtual Space code, player-built spaceships, a medical class, and more!

The game has a totally unique timeline, put together by our storytellers. This timeline differs from Canon in a spectacular way, allowing us to forge our own events and history in the Star Wars Universe!

The Empire in all it’s glory has been long obliterated, with the exception of rumored areas still under their control in the Outer Regions. None of these remaining factions are considered a threat to the Galaxy.

The New Republic is in a state of galactic peace.

Out of nowhere…chaos.

The Coruscant Sun, ever a bright light in sector Zero, has gone supernova, leaving the system nothing but a mass of debris, fields spread out over a huge area. Trillions die in the blast, but all is not lost: the asteroids and chunks of rock created by the explosion are discovered to be rich in materials. Miners, colonists, and the riffraff of the galaxy flock to the region, infested with dense nebula and asteroid fields. Pirates construct bases inside hollowed-out asteroids deep inside the nebulas, preying on the innocent shipping in the newly formed trade lanes. Miners carve large amounts of expensive metals and fuel of the rocks. Colonists, and those wishing a challenge, begin to attempt to terra-form large asteroids.

The Republic, in a bid to maintain the peace it has kept the Galaxy in over the years since the fall of the Empire, relocate their headquarters to Metellos. As loose bands of pirates begin to form into more dangerous factions, the Republic feels the imminent threat breathing down their necks, and start to clamp down on the pirates. This only causes more piracy and larger rogue factions to erupt, bringing about immense problems for the Republic in the region — which Metellos, the Republic’s base, lies just outside.

Will the Imperials take advantage of this new turmoil in those they once called Rebels, and attempt to wrest control of the Galaxy, or will these new rogue groups evolve into something larger, and much more dangerous?

And .. what was the real cause of the Coruscant Supernova?

Fate of the Republic is one of the oldest running SWRs out there,
just with a new face. Since 1997, the staff of FotR (Formally RitS)
has worked hard to create a MUD that truly captures the essence
of the Star Wars universe, a calling that most miss. Through
advances in both our code, building and with the help of our loyal
players and staff, I am proud to say that I believe we have done
just that, shedding our SMAUG skin to become the first truly
immersive Star Wars MUD, where the player steps out of our world
and into the world of Jedi and Sith, where the Sith Empire dominates
the landscape, having smashed the Republic and the Alliance that
followed to their very foundations.

Our code supports several key features that are unique to our MUD,
including a brand new level system, a player-driven quest system
and a completely unique profession-based level system that allows
for quite a bit of customization. We have also recently finished an unique
combat system that is slightly more than the usual ‘whoever has the biggest
blaster wins’.

We’ve diverted from canon these past two years, and now we’re playing
out our own timeline. Palpatine died at the end of the Clone Wars, the
CIS crushed the Republic under the leadership of a Sith Lord, who went
on to establish the Sith Empire. From the ashes of the Republic a new
Alliance of Free Planets sprung up, but after a long and drawn out
fight they too were crushed under the heel of the mighty Empire. The
appearance of the Yuuzhan Vong has severely sapped the Empire’s
resources, and though these unnatural invaders are all but defeated
it has come at great cost to the Empire. In their weakened state many
systems now question whether the Emperor is still fit to rule.

A new CWG-Rasputin based, Star Wars themed mud set in the
Clone Wars era is currently hiring builders of all
skill levels. Those who show motivation, skill
and quality of building can be promoted to Planetary
Governors, who will oversee all building on their specific
planet and will lead their own builder team. With the pending release
of the new Clone Wars movie, why not get in on the ground level of something
fantastic?

The code has undergone some amazing additions already including:

- A planet system for zone assignment.
- A hyperspace travel system for vehicles to travel across the stars!
- An atmosphere system for Oxygen and non-Oxygen breathing!
- An item upgrade system whereby certain weapon and armor types can be improved with amazing results!
- A player clone system for dealing with death!
- Lots more!

There are a lot of exciting features, skills and force abilities pending implementation, however, the time has come to start building Galactic content so we can move into player testing!
